Reflections on Week One & Two

So it's already been two weeks into the semester and I feel that I have already learned quite a bit. That could be because this is actually my first blog I have created, which makes all this very new to me. Even before creating this blog rarely did I check out other peoples. I can see my self keeping a blog just for fun after this course is finished. I'm guessing that when this semester is over and another is about to start I'm going to hope that class has you set up a blog.

These first two weeks have been mostly composed of going through the expectations that Dr.V has set for us students. Being that you can choose the grade you want to accomplish sets you in a frame of mind to complete the objectives you need in order to receive that mark. Along with explaining the expectations for the class, most of our class times have been consumed by learning all there is to know about Blogger. This has really helped me in getting to know the ins and outs of how to set up a professionally looking blog...at least to my rookie blogging standards. But I have found out that I learn really quick on how to use a blog. In a way it makes me feel a little more professional with technology.

At first I wasn't sure how well this whole blog thing would work, but these past two weeks totally changed my thoughts. Its a brilliant idea to have assignments done on a blog instead of wasting our natural resources. Having assignments done on a blog will benefit one much more than the "old" fashioned way of handing in an assignment. This allows you to gain plenty of feedback from students, that can only affect your learning in a positive way, considering that people leave posts of encouragement and not negative thoughts.

Overall, I feel that the first two weeks have been pretty productive, and only to think there's a lot more to come! I'm ready to start getting in depth with our studies on Environmental Health and adding my knowledge to my blog!

  1. Blogging is completely new to me as well. I on the other hand am not grasping it as well as you. Right now I feel that blogging is more challenging then fun. Hopefully that will change as I get more practice. Your blog does look very professional, so good job! I am also really looking forward to learning more about Environmental Health. I can't wait to see what we learn next.
